For several days, a young woman from the Czech Republic has been stuck at Roissy-Charles de Gaulle airport, hoping to locate Amalka, her lost dog. Amalka, a two-year-old female, escaped on Tuesday November 19 and has been on the airport runways ever since, leaving her owner Míša, 29, in deep distress.

The incident occurred while Míša was traveling from Vienna to Dallas, with a stopover in Paris. When she arrived at Roissy, she simply had to transfer to her next flight. His dog, placed in the hold in a transport cage, apparently managed to escape before the agents could even open the hold. Once free, Amalka rushed to the airport runways.

A week of anxiety and waiting

Since this event, Míša has been going through a real ordeal. She explains to Franceinfo that she is extremely affected by this situation. “I’ve been at the airport for a week and I still haven’t found my dog,” she confides, visibly very moved. This separation is all the more difficult as the dog plays an essential role in the life of the young woman, who suffers from attention disorders. “Amalka is part of my therapy. We are inseparable, she helps me stay focused when my mind is wandering,” she explains.

Unusual efforts to find Amalka

Faced with this exceptional situation, Air France has put in place a unique system to try to locate the animal. Regular searches, sometimes organized at night, were carried out with the participation of Míša. In addition, posters have been installed in various areas of the airport to alert staff to the disappearance of the animal.

A drone has also been used to fly over the tracks and search for the dog, without success so far. In a rare move, Míša was allowed direct access to the slopes to attempt to capture her animal. She says: “I approached slowly, I called her name, but she is so stressed that she does not let herself be caught. This noisy environment is completely new to her. »

Continued mobilization

Despite multiple attempts, Amalka remains untraceable. Míša, resolute, has decided to stay in Roissy as long as it takes to recover her four-legged companion. During this time, the airline continues to cover its catering and accommodation costs, and ensures that all available resources are mobilized to find the animal.

This incident highlights how pets play a crucial role in their owners’ lives, particularly when they provide emotional or therapeutic support. For Míša, finding Amalka is much more than a question of comfort: it is a necessity.
